Potty Breaks

One of the cutest little bloggers around, Lindsey at the teacher wife, posted earlier about students wanting to leave class to go to the restroom.  I have 2 or 3 students who, ask about going to the restroom almost everyday.  They always ask to go during our small group direct reading instruction time.  Most students work in literacy or math centers during this time, but the ones who get too rowdy have to go to their seat and do board work.  That is usually when the "waterworks" :) begin.  Two weeks ago, I decided to start using an Emergency Potty Pass.  Each student gets one per week, and it has seemed to help.   Click the image to get a copy.

P.S.:  No one has had an accident, no matter how bad they "really, really got to go!!". :)
